Last day of College

Today was my last day of college! I took my last final at 2:30p.m. and walked off BYU campus forever....just kidding, I'm sure our paths will cross again soon, like tomorrow when I go to my job on campus.

It was a bittersweet day, I'm going to miss attending BYU, it is a wonderful school and it was the right choice for me- for many different reasons.  I feel blessed to have spent 6 years here (yes it took me six years to graduate, that's 10 semesters, I started here in 2005!).

It will be weird just working next semester and not going to school.  Don't get me wrong, I'm excited to not worry about papers, tests, grades, etc, but I think there are some things I will miss.

And let's be honest, I will still be living a, "college lifestyle" (i.e. living in a college town, living in a tiny apartment, living on a tight budget, not being able to spend quality time with your husband because he has to study every night!) because P will be in school until next December.

The day that he graduates, gets a full-time job and we move from Provo, for good,  will be a REALLY weird day.   Until then I will be P's sugar momma and provide him with all of his material wants and needs (his words, not mine).  I'm just glad that I have a job!  And a job that I love!  I will be working at UVU, in their Wellness Programs, this is where I completed my internship.

A walk down memory lane...or a picture overload of all the college pictures I could find:

Wow! That was a lot!

Be excited for my next post when I reveal where we will be going this summer for P's internship.....I bet you can't wait!

Dinner

Do you ever make dinner and then totally lose your appetite for it, or find that it tastes disgusting to you?  Sounds weird but this happens to me frequently and it happened again tonight.  Could this be one of the reasons that I don't enjoy cooking?  Yes, I think so!

Tonight I made shepherds pie (not the most tasty meal to begin with), and it turned out okay.  I didn't ruin it, but it was kind of way too juicy and the cheese tasted nasty to me.  So after a couple of bites, mainly eating the green beans (trying to get my veggies!), I decided to eat this for dinner instead
popcorn and milk duds, a perfect combination
and it tasted much better!
Hopefully P is in the mood for shepherd's pie when he gets home cause there's a whole pan of it just waiting for him!

And now I'm off to do a sink full of these

another reason why I just don't love cooking.

Reminiscing

Whenever I have a "blah" day, I like to go through photo albums (on the computer) and reminisce.  It always makes me happy to see people that I love and remember the good times, and remind myself how blessed I am!  While we were at my parent's house for Thanksgiving, I was looking at some of my mom's pictures that she finally put on the computer. I came across these photos that were taken in California.  I can't believe it's almost been a year since we moved to Diamond Bar.  Crazy how time flies.

This is right before we left to drive out there.

Zach and Ty who so kindly helped us drive both of our cars out there.
Pics from when my mom came to visit!

The infamous cat and dog that we babysat.  I believe this pic was taken after that darn cat finally decided to come home! I never told the story on my blog, but let's just say I will NEVER babysit a cat again.

Now dogs on the other hand, I can handle them, except this one insisted that he sleep with us every night, ew.  I don't like my pets sleeping with me, that's just too much for me.

A Weekend With Friends

Last weekend we had the chance to head up to Heber with some of our friends for a little getaway.  Long story short, we were planning to stay at my family's cabin for two nights but we ended up having to spend one of the nights in a different cabin...sad.  And unfortunately, the cabin that we stayed at the first night did not have heat!  I'm not really sure if it was broken or what but the huge thermometer on the wall said it was 50 degrees and it never changed while we were there.  Thanks to our friends for being great sports about the whole situation, you guys are the best!!!  We had to literally sit by the fire, the entire night because it was freezing everywhere else in the cabin.  We ate dinner next to the fire, pushed the couches right up to the fire so that we could play games there and P and I actually pulled our mattress out next to the fire and slept by it!  I wish we had pictures of us in our coats, shoes, and sweats all huddled around the fire.  But I was too cold to go get my camera and take any pictures-ha!

Anyway, we survived the night and headed off to Park City to get out of the freezing cabin.  After a short trip to the Outlets, we ate lunch at Dairy Keen in Heber and I ran into one of my best friends Bethie!  So fun to see her.  Thankfully, we were able to move over to my cabin for our last night. It felt so good to be in a warm cabin!

P and I made Thai curry and a Thai soup (Tom Ka Gai, I believe it's called) for everyone.  We watched a movie that night and just hung out. Oh and we Tim Tam Slammed it, with the famous cheer and all! Proof below...

The next day we  went to church, and came home to eat Kasee's delicious tacos-yum!  All in all it was a fun and memorable weekend.  And we were just happy to share it with awesome friends who we are so grateful for!

P took a trip out to Arkansas last week to interview with General Mills for an internship this summer.  He got the internship (he's the first intern that they have ever taken from BYU!) and now we're just trying to decided between this offer and some of his other offers.  But it looks like we'll be back in Arkansas this summer, oh joy!
