BFF Get Together

We were lucky to be able to get together with my high school best friends during Christmas time.  It was wonderful to be able to see everyone.  We enjoyed homemade cafe rio, exchanging white elephant gifts and catching up with each other.  We missed Candace and Stacey and their husbands :(
I love all of you girls!
We're all married now, so crazy!  But I guess we've now been out of high school for over six years..hard to believe it's been that long.
Unfortunately these pics are a bit blurry, but I had to post them anyway!

New Year's Day Tradition

Every year on New Year's Day we head to Momma Phyllis' house to eat delicious food.  She prepares it all and it is quite the feast.  It's a tradition in her Korean culture to celebrate New Year's Day with yummy food and family.  She spends forever preparing and the outcome is fabulous Korean food and wonderful company.  She's always so kind to invite my family over, along with some of her friends who come each year.

I'm grateful to be part of a family who celebrates their culture.  I love learning and experiencing new cultures so I have enjoyed marrying into the family that I did.

THANK YOU MOM for keeping up this Korean tradition that we all get to enjoy because of your hard work.  We love you!

And I didn't even get a picture of her!  How terrible...next year, next year!

Just Dance

On New Year's Eve we danced the night away following Just Dance (i think that's what it's called) on the xbox.  It was a blast! I really love to dance and it's a bonus that it happens to be a great work out.  It was also fun to watch each other and see how silly we all look.  Here's a few pics for the proof.

New Year's Eve 2011

We had another successful New Year's Eve Taco Bash.  Always a good time with family and food.
Aren't those little penguins adorable! Mom made them.

Eating yummy tacos around papa's train table.

Cousin love! And P giving the kiddos some math problems to figure out, which led Jack to say "P can you come be my personal math teacher, you make math so fun!" ha, hilarious! They love him and P enjoys having someone to solve his puzzles.

This cutie couldn't resist licking his plate clean, mmm chocolate cake!

Sparklers at midnight.

Excited for what 2012 will hold for our family!

Christmas 2011

I can't believe how fast Christmas came and went.  It always seems to come and go too quickly.  This year P and I didn't exchange gifts with each other and it was kind of nice not to have to worry about what we were going to get each other.  It helped me to focus on the true meaning of Christmas rather than finding that perfect gift, although don't get me wrong, I love to pick out gifts (and receive gifts, of course!) so we still bought for siblings and our parents and received some wonderful gifts from family.

Christmas morning was spent with Momma Phyllis and Jen.  We attended church and enjoyed having Christmas on a Sunday, it was a great reminder of what we were really celebrating that day.  After church, Jen made us the best breakfast ever, she is a wonderful cook, I always look forward to anything she cooks or bakes.

Christmas day and evening was spent with my side of the family.  We opened presents with my family, enjoyed a wonderful dinner (prime rib made by mom, it was her first time) and then headed over to Nana and Papa's for more eating, acting out the nativity and playing games.

Complete with costumes straight from The Holy Land.  My parent's brought them back this year from their trip to Jerusalem and Egypt.

Thanks to our friends Robie and Chelsea for introducing us to our new favorite game, Spot It.  It was one of a few small things I bought for our family from Santa :)  It's such a fun game.

Christmas Eve 2011

Since we've been married, we spend Christmas Eve with P's side of the family.  This year we went out to a movie, Sherlock Holmes, ate out at a delicious Sushi restaurant with friends, and sang karaoke!
And just incase you were wondering, Brittany Spears is my favorite to sing when I'm doing karaoke! I made P sing "Oops I Did it Again" with me.   It reminded me of the last time I sang Brittany karaoke with Kristyn in China- good memories!

Thanks Momma Phyllis for a delicious dinner and thanks Jen for treating us to the movie!
