Weekend Fun

On Saturday we were invited to go to Beaver Lake out here in Arkansas, it was so beautiful.  We got to wakeboard and tube (just P) and spend time riding in the boat.  It was like heaven, we both love being on the lake and this lake was surrounded by the thick, green luscious Arkansas trees. The only downside to the day was frying my legs..ouch..i hate sunburns.

Yesterday was my birthday, I'm 24. I feel old but young at the same time. P made me breakfast...pancakes from scratch (some regular and some choc. chip-he knows my love for all things chocolate!) and homemade blueberry syrup.  That boy of mine is a chef, really he's so creative and smart in the kitchen, I love it.

We then went to church, it was wonderful. Heard lots of talks in sacrament about fathers, and I was reminded of how awesome it is that we all have a Father in Heaven who loves us, I'm so thankful for that knowledge! We had a really awesome lesson in Sunday school, the teacher (who is out here doing his internship at Walmart) shared two of his favorite Mormon Messages. If you haven't seen any of them you should watch some-they're the bomb.  And he talked about faith.  Then in Relief Society we also had a great lesson and I felt the Spirit so strong. I'm so thankful for my church, I love that the Spirit is the same anywhere you go.

We also met this cute couple, Eric and Kimmi-we actually ran into them at Walmart on Sat night-they are in our ward and they are out here for the summer doing an internship with Walmart.  They're living in the apartments we lived in last summer-lucky them! Anyway, they are awesome and I can't wait to hang out with Kimmi cause she is so sweet and we totally clicked.

After church I read while P studied for an interview that he has tomorrow, with Microsoft! P made me dinner, marinated chicken and pepper lemon shrimp with corn on the cob.  It was delicious! I ate 1 and a 1/2 corn on the cobs-I LOVE corn on the cob in the summertime!  Then I offered to make my own b-day cake since P needed to study some more and it was just Funfetti out of the box so I thought I could manage :)

We had our intern friends (Brittany, Laudi and Kit) over for cake and ice cream again.  I was so happy they came over to spend my birthday night with us!  We watched part of Miss America, that was funny, some of those girls' interests were making us laugh...zip lining, racing cars, doughnuts....yeah right!  Then we played Taboo, one of our favorite games.

Although I did miss being with family, especially since my whole extended family came over to my house last night to celebrate Father's Day, I was thankful to spend my day at church, with friends and of course, with the man I love.  Thanks P for making me feel so loved and special on my birthday!

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful dad. He's the most patient, hard working, loving, giving, determined, positive, easy-going, forgiving, supportive, dad ever!  Both P and I are so thankful for him in our life.

I also want to thank P's mom for playing the role of both mother and father in their household.  Momma Phyllis you are one amazing woman -loving, hard working, kind, supportive, such a great example to me, and I love you!
