I wanted to share this video, and although I think it's a little cheesy at the beginning, it reminds me of what is really important in this life (eternal families through eternal marriages) and to never repress an expression of gratitude or love.
The video quotes Elder Richard G. Scott's talk that he gave in April 2011 Conference, titled "The Eternal Blessings of Marriage." I remember listening to that talk in April and loving it- especially the stories he shared about his sweet wife. The way he spoke about her was so tender and loving.
I love what Elder Scott says, (I have to quote it here so that I don't forget it!)
"Marriage provides an ideal setting for overcoming any tendency to be selfish or self-centered. (THIS IS SO TRUE) Express gratitude for what your spouse does for you. Express that love and gratitude often. That will make life far richer and more pleasant and purposeful. Don’t withhold those natural expressions of love."
So whether you are married or not, don't withhold these natural expressions of love to those who mean the most to you! And to my sweet husband, thank you for sharing this video with me, and thank you for all the expressions of love that you show to me. I'm so blessed to have you for eternity.
And I just couldn't post this without telling my Mom thanks for her expressions of love. In my mind she is the Queen of Expressions of Love. Growing up she was always leaving me notes here and there - a note written on my banana in my school lunch, a note folded into my laundry when I came home from college to do laundry on the weekends, a note in my jean pocket, notes by my bedside when I came home late from hanging out with friends in high school, a tiny heart note in the corner of the visor mirror in my car, and countless others. I've saved many of them and still read them to this day. Thank you mom for these notes, they mean so much to me, and also for the verbal expressions of love that you so frequently showed me growing up. Love you!
