After considering going on a cruise (they were all booked or required us to fly to Florida which we didn't want to do), going back to Cancun (we honeymooned here so we wanted to try something new), or going to the Bahamas (weather was suppose to be bad/hurricane season/lack of time) we decided to just go to Vegas. It definitely wasn't the Bahamas, but it was still fun.
We decided to drive and I'm glad we did, it was nice to simply be with each other and have all that time to talk. P had been studying for the GMAT and working full time at Goldman so we really hadn't had a ton of time together to just talk.
We stayed at Mandalay Bay and enjoyed it. Here's what we did:
We saw one show, KA, we both really like it. The stage moved during the whole performance so it was a lot of action!
We went to the Wicked Soon buffet in the Cosmopolitan hotel; the food was fancy and I thought it was pretty good quality (for a buffet).
We walked through some of the casinos and hotels on the strip. We've been to Vegas a bunch, in fact we go every year to boat and hang out with our family who live there, but we don't spend a lot of time on the strip so we'd never really been through the casinos. And they get old (for me) after about one night of walking through.
We spent a lot of time at the Mandalay beach/pool.
Went shopping in Caesars Palace and at the Fashion Square Mall.
We also ate delicious sushi, at I love Sushi.
And enjoyed a massage.
It was such a nice, quick, little getaway for us and I'm glad we decided to go.
Thanks babe for taking me on a fun getaway!
